Supraventricular arrhythmia

26 October, 2025

  1. An abnormally fast heart beats, usually 150-300 beats per minute that originate form the upper chambers (the atria) because the electric signals do not travel down the proper pathways in the heart.
  2. In this condition, the ventricles contract too fast, making them less efficient at pumping blood. This can lead to heart racings in addiction to dizziness, lightheadedness, or chest pain.
  3. Despite causing worrisome symptoms, this condition does not endanger life and eventually stops either spontaneously or with medications.
  4. The following maneuvers can help stop an attack before going to the hospital: straining, induction of vomiting, pressing on the eye globe and inserting the head in cold water.
  5. Ask your doctor about the lines of long-term treatment of this condition. Catheter ablation being the first line therapy with a very high success rate and medical treatment.
